The Encore Series is the next generation of line interactive,
true sine wave, Uninterruptible Power Supply. It.s unique
design provides protection from a wide variety of power
quality problems in addition to blackout protection,
making it ideal for data centers, network servers, and
other applications where system shutdown is not an option.
Communications and control software allows your system
to be monitored and controlled at all times, from any
location.
Designed as the optimum mix of performance and cost-effectiveness,
the Encore Series provides the level of protection
demanded for these business- critical systems:
- High-end computer workstations
- Network servers
- Industrial automation
- Private branch exchange (PBX) phone systems
- IT Data Centers
Protection from Power Quality Problems
Surges/Sags
Power surges and sags can be caused by heavy equipment (motor driven)
or office equipment being turned off or on.
The effects of surges or sags on your business-critical
systems can range from flickering lights, data error,
or memory loss to equipment stress, shutdown, and premature
hardware failure.
The Encore Series .double tap. technology allows for
a wider than industry standard voltage tolerance range
(74-164 VAC) that can take care of surges/ sags without
going to battery.
Blackout
Power blackouts can be caused by tripped circuit breakers, power
distribution failure or utility power failure.
The effects of a blackout on your business-critical
systems can be devastating. In addition to lost productivity
during a blackout, existing data can be corrupted or
lost. Hardware stress, component damage or complete
hard- ware failure may also occur.
During a blackout, the Encore Series can provide your
company with enough battery backup time to allow for
a graceful shutdown. The extended battery packs can
supply unlimited runtime.
Spikes/High Voltage Transients
Power spikes and high voltage transients can be caused by lightning
strikes, static discharge, switching operations or arcing faults
-- events that are all too common in today's environment.
The effects of a transient on your business-critical
systems can range from data error and loss to hardware
stress and damage.
If a spike or transient occurs outside of Encore's
wide voltage tolerance range, the double buck/boost
feature will raise or lower the voltage to meet the
power requirements of the most demanding equipment.
Field Upgradeable Installation Flexibility
What you buy today may not be what you need tomorrow.
Another key of the Encore Series is its installation
flexibility. The standard tower/rack configuration
allows the Encore Series to sit on or by your computer,
and allows easy installation into standard computer
racks. Everything required for either installation
comes standard. An easy and inexpensive optional mounting
kit allows for wall or 23. rack mounting of the Encore
Series UPS.
Extended Battery Life
Batteries are the key components that provide the
power to make a UPS uninterruptible. They are also
the weakest and most expensive part of the system.
Batteries wear out over time, and the only answer is
to replace them -- an expensive proposition.
Every time a voltage sag or surge hits the UPS that
is outside the voltage window (industry standard is
typically 96 - 138 VAC) the UPS will change to battery
mode. Each time this happens, some part of the battery's
capacity is used and can never be regained. The Encore
Series provides battery protection with a smarter "double
tap" design that allows the input voltage to fluctuate
from 75 - 164 V AC without using the battery! That
means less wear and tear on the batteries, which results
in longer battery life and lower maintenance costs.
Another important aspect of the battery is having
enough. Depending on the unique requirements of your
critical environment, the blackout support time from
your battery may be measured in minutes, hours or even
days. The Encore Series flexible extended battery design
allows the addition of a little or a lot. With two
versions of the Extended Battery, you can select the
correct amount of backup time for your application
without buying more than you need. Intelligent battery
design makes the Encore Series cost effective to buy
and own.
Communications
Standard communications via RS232 or optional SNMP
net- work communications using the industry standard
MIB means that you not only have the ability to protect,
but manage and monitor power to critical systems. Monitoring
and control software for all major operating systems
is a standard part of the Encore Series.
Warranty
A warranty is about confidence. That's why Staco Energy
Products Co. offers an industry- leading full three-year
warranty on the Encore Series. We have such complete
confidence in the products we manufacture that we back
them with a full, non-prorated warranty for the full
system, including both the electronics and the battery.
